The SA Geospatial Analysis Platform consists of a mesoscale demarcation of South Africa into just less than 25 000 so-called mesozones, each approximately 50 km2 in size (roughly 7km by 7km), and connected to a digital road network. The dataset compiled as part of the GAP2 map viewer and CD represents the most detailed, spatially compatible estimate of economic activity, population and urban accessibility in South Africa.
